Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger latest water infrastructure plan was voted down by Democrats on the Senate Natural Resources and Water Committee. This plan called for nearly $4.5 billion in bonds for new dams in the Central Valley and was interesting to me since the trend in most western states seems to be to tear down dams, not build them.
Schwarzenegger introduced a new spin on a reason for building dams from all the normal growing population type reasons. His new spin was that reservoirs were needed because of global warming. Interesting spin.
Read my previous post titled “California’s $4.5 billion Water Storage Vision” which summarized his proposal and had three good Arnold water quotes.
