Forget Billboards. Advertise to the Satellites

Although this topic really does not relate as well to this blog, I thought this subject was still interesting. Someone emailed me this video this week which shows what could be the future of outdoor advertising.

As zooming around Google Maps becomes more common place, will there be more incentives to alter landscapes and add another dimension to advertising?

More importantly, could this in the future help water utilities offset some costs? Some dams offer a perfect place for a logo, especially on a concrete spillway. Could a Coca-Cola or Pepsi logo on a dam offset some annual maintenance costs? Would Coca-Cola or Pepsi pay for a logo?

Since we are on the topic of maps and South Carolina, did anyone else find this video embarrassing?
